Privacy Policy
1. Scope
This policy describes how MightyIdea LLC (“MightyIdea”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information in connection with mightyidea.com (the “Site”). It does not apply to third-party sites we link to, which are governed by their own policies.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide. If you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, the project type and budget you select, and the contents of your message. A company name may be provided but is optional.
Information collected automatically. When you load a page, our hosting and network providers record standard web request data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, pages requested, and date and time.
We also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies in your browser and records the pages you view, how long you stay, how you reached us, your device and browser, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store the IP address itself. If you use the contact form, we record that it was opened and whether a message was sent, along with the project type and budget you select from the lists; the contents of your message are never sent to Google Analytics. We access all of this as aggregate statistics.
The Site has no accounts or logins, and we do not collect payment card details or government identifiers.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to respond to and act on enquiries, to deliver and secure the Site, and to measure aggregate traffic. Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, our legal basis for information you submit through the contact form is Article 6(1)(b), being the steps taken at your request before entering into a contract; for information collected automatically it is our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the Site.
4. Service providers
We disclose personal information only to the following providers, each engaged to process it on our behalf and for no other purpose:
- GitHub, Inc. hosts the Site and receives request data. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
- Cloudflare, Inc. provides content delivery, security, and cookieless traffic analytics, and receives request data. Its analytics script is served from
static.cloudflareinsights.com. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. - Google LLC provides Google Analytics and receives the usage data described in section 2. See the Google Privacy Policy.
- Formspree, Inc. delivers contact form submissions to us by email, and receives only what you submit through that form. See the Formspree Privacy Policy.
Fonts, stylesheets, and images are served from our own domain and involve no third party.
5. Cookies and tracking
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_<id>, which tell one visitor from another and expire after two years. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie, such as __cf_bm, to tell automated traffic from human visitors. Those are the only cookies on the Site.
We use no advertising, profiling, or cross-site tracking technologies. Google’s advertising storage is denied here by default, so no advertising cookies are set and your data is not used to personalise advertising.
You can refuse analytics without losing anything. Block or delete cookies in your browser, use a tracker-blocking extension or a private window, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, which opts you out across every site you visit. The Site behaves identically either way.
6. Disclosure
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We may disclose personal information where required by law, or where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
7. Retention
Contact enquiries are retained for as long as necessary to respond and to maintain a reasonable record of the correspondence, after which they are deleted. Google Analytics data is retained on the schedule configured in our Google Analytics property and then deleted automatically. Request logs are retained by our providers under their own schedules. We maintain no separate database of visitors.
8. Your rights
Subject to your jurisdiction and to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict its processing, including processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests. California residents additionally have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, which we do not conduct, and the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any privacy right.
To exercise a right, email [email protected]. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and may request information sufficient to verify your identity. Because browsing the Site produces no information that identifies you to us, we may be unable to associate automatically collected data with a specific individual. If you are in the EEA or the United Kingdom, you may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
9. International transfers
We and our providers are located in the United States, and personal information is processed there. If you access the Site from another jurisdiction, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, whose data protection laws may differ from those of your own.
10. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Any revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and material changes will be summarised here.
